Jubilation As Bello’s Campaign Train Storms Isanlu

There was wild jubilation in the ancient city of Isanlu the Headquarters of Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State on Wednesday following the visit of the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Governor Yahaya Bello and his running mate Edward David Onoja.

The APC governorship candidate who arrived the Isanlu township stadium at 4.45 pm in an open van was accompanied by Senate President, Smart Adeyemi, All the Council Administrators from the Western Senatorial District and political appointees.

Other dignitaries present at the APC campaign rally include former Acting Governor of Kogi State who defected to APC recently, Clearance Olafemi, APC State Chairman Abdullahi Bello among others.

Addressing the large crowd, Bello re-iterated his commitment not to fail Kogites but transform the state if voted into power for a second term.

He said, “We are going to execute developmental projects that will impact positively in the lives of the people if we are given the mandate. We will also focus on youth employment to secure the future of our youth.

Bello further urged the people of Kogi West to let their support for APC translate into voting massively for the party and Senator Smart Adeyemi on November 16.

Adeyemi, who is also the Director-General, Bello/Onoja Campaign Council, would stand as a candidate in the court-ordered Kogi-West Senatorial rerun.

He told the crowd not to throw away their votes, adding that only Adeyemi could properly represent them in the Senate.

“Don’t vote for a selfish and rascal person who does not have your interest at heart. If you love me and will cast your vote for me, do the same for Adeyemi,” he said.

The governor vowed to reverse the downward trend in development of the state in his second term, if given the chance.

He insisted that with the commencement of prompt payment of salary, his government had also commenced the repositioning of the state for the better.

“My government is better prepared to reverse the downward developmental forced on us by the previous administration,” he added.

According to Bello, in his second term, the state will witness ease, happiness, joy and prosperity.

Earlier, Adeyemi said the senatorial district was ready to reward the governor with their votes for his “love for the zone.”
