With the governorship election of Kogi State just two weeks away, the Minister of State for Federal Capital Territory FCT, Dr. Ramatu Tijjani on Friday (today) said there is no vacancy in Lugard House come 2020, saying Governor Yahaya Bello has done well in his first term to earn the confidence of the people of the state.

The Minister stated this in a telephone chat with Kogiwatch.

She described the performance of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in the last presidential, National and state Assembly elections in the state as an indication of what would happen in November 16, during the governorship election stressing that the APC will win overwhelmingly.

According to Mrs. Aliyu, ” The APC won in the Presidential elections and won two of the Senatorial and seven house of representative seats. We are also aware that the APC cleared all the twenty five seats in the state assembly, a history making victory since the creation of the state.

“Don’t forget that the APC in August last year won a bye election for Kogi/Lokoja Federal Constituency. This is an indication of the APC winning all elections in the state since governor Bello came on board, it is no mean achievement and political fortunes, an indication that come two weeks time, we’re not expecting anything short but a clear win.

“In the African adage, our elders have a saying that what happens in the morning is a determinant of what would happen in the evening. For Kogi governorship, with finality, I can say, there is no vacancy in Lugard house.”

The Minister disclosed that with the house now made up of all APC members, it would engender quick passage of bills and smooth implementation of government policies.

Mrs. Aliyu assured the people of Kogi state of better days ahead, promising that the state government under Governor Yahaya Bello and his Deputy, Chief Edward David Onoja would provide infrastructure across the state.

In a related development, the Minister also urged the people of Kogi West to let their support for the All Progressives Congress translate into voting massively for the party and Senator Smart Adeyemi on November 16, adding that only Adeyemi could properly represent them in the Senate.
